Chapter Ⅰ
The Ember

It started with a broken radio. I took it apart to find where the voices lived.

Every machine I broke taught me one true thing. I kept them all.
Now it's my work: I take ideas that exist only on paper and build them until they run for real.

Servers, blueprints, half-built machines — this is where an idea becomes engineering. (hold the iron.)

So I built two AIs. A fast one that answers instantly — but shallow. A deep one that really thinks — but slow.
So I wired them together into one realtime voice agent — the fast model speaks while the deep one thinks ahead. It talks like a person.
MACHINE SPEAKS LIKE A MAN — AUDIENCE CHECKS FOR STRINGS
Two AI models share one voice: the fast one speaks while the deep one thinks ahead, handing off mid-sentence — so the conversation never stalls and never sounds hollow.
The result is strange mostly in how ordinary it sounds: a machine thinking and talking at the same time, the way people have always done it.

And by the time it spoke on its own, I was already staring at the next problem.
At night I do research — the questions nobody assigned to me. Three of them became books.

My favorite: AI models small enough to live on an ordinary computer. Little machines, faithfully kept.
The ember is the urge to build. It was never really mine — it belongs to whoever is holding it. Right now, that's you.
